Biodegradation

With the natural biodegradation test in soil, textile products are supposed to degrade under realistic conditions. The rate of degradation is largely dependent on the "external and internal" influences of biodegradation. In order to ensure the safety of the environmental, the degraded residues must be ecotoxicologically harmless.

For this purpose, the Hohenstein has the ability to test what happens to textile products in the soil burial test, how fast they can degrade and what remains of them.
